Bollywood has fans all over the world and its actors are nothing less than the role models for most of us. We aspire to look like them, sound like them and even walk like them. What we don’t get to see usually is the hard work and dedication that goes into the making of such fine personalities. They seem to be blessed with natural talent and sculpted bodies onscreen, but it takes a lot of efforts to adorn the physique they flaunt around.

Here’s a sneak peek into the lifestyle and fitness regime of top 5 Bollywood actors who have been ruling the silver screen since more than a decade.

The Ajay we saw in ‘Phool aur Kaante’, and the Ajay we know now as ‘Singham’ are very different in AJAY-DEVGUN-BOLLYWOOD-STAR-PERFECT-PHYSIQUEterms of acting as well as looks. He has evolved as an actor and groomed himself very well over the years. Being fit is like a habit to him, though he admits it’s not easy to maintain thechiseled look throughout the year.

Ajay started training hard and following a concentrated workout schedule in 2009. It is since then that he has had six pack abs resulting from an hour and 15 minutes workout session comprising of weight training followed by cardio. In 2011, Ajay had to endorse aburly physique to fight away the goons in ‘Singham’. To achieve this look, he undertook agrueling combination of weights and circuit super sets that integrated many techniques like push-ups and pull-ups.

Ajay is a disciplinarian when it comes to eating habits. His meal plan is changed on a weekly basis and comprises of a healthy combination of high-protein and low-carb diet. As he has always been a fitness freak, it wasn’t difficult for this deep-eyed actor to get into the desired shape for any of his movies.

Watch his latest avatar in the movie ‘Action Jackson’ and I’m sure you will never want to look away from the screen even for a second.

Mr. Perfectionist, as he is fondly referred to, Aamir Khan has showed no signs of ageing and instead has proved that age is just a number for him. Remember Aamir from his ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi AAMIR-KHAN-BOLLYWOOD-STAR-PERFECT-PHYSIQUESikander’ days and you would actually want to search for his fitness schedule that made him transform into a muscular ‘Ghajini’ followed by a lean and fit antagonist in ‘Dhoom3’ and finally a toned ‘PK’. The drastic changes in his physique have not been endowed naturally, but are a result of a strict diet and workout regime.

Aamir toned up his body with eight-pack abs for the bald and bulky look of ‘Ghajini’ in 2008. Post ‘Ghajini’, he lost around 7 kgs to play the role of a college boy in ‘3 idiots’ in 2009. Aamir strived towards acquiring the lean and fit physique of an antagonist in ‘Dhoom3’ for which he needed to shed extra fat and build more lean muscle mass. He practiced gymnastics, mid air exercises and stunts for ‘Dhoom3′ to perfect his look for the movie.

After ‘Dhoom3′, he headed to the shooting of ‘PK’ where he needed to look even fitter and leaner. He followed a strict diet and exercise regimen throughout the movie, but piled on a lot of weight once he finished shooting. With a few shots remaining, he again went for a special weight loss training where he was able to shed the extra weight in just 10 weeks time. He was put on a high-protein, very low-carb and moderate fat diet to achieve the PK look yet again.

Hats off to the perfectionist star, who leaves no stone unturned in getting into the character he plays onscreen.

SHAH-RUKH-KHAN-BOLLYWOOD-STAR-PERFECT-PHYSIQUEShahrukh Khan, naam to suna hi hoga….Why am I just beginning to feel all romantic!! The name doesn’t need any other adjective to define this handsome and romantic personality. The Baadshah of Bollywood started his career around two decades ago with a television serial ‘Fauji’ and has slowly graduated his way into films. Since then, he has never looked back and has made a mark in the film industry.

Shahrukh was quite lean when he took off in the flight to stardom, but has gradually worked on his body to match the current set of actors. With an amazing body and trendy hairstyles, he can still give a run for money to his junior co-actors.

Over the years, SRK has been hitting the gym and pumping iron to adorn his current eight-pack abs.  He once told the media that it’s his kids who used to call him fat and unhealthy and this is what provoked him to get in shapeand work towards a toned and healthy physique. He enjoys working out with his son and copies his way of exercising too.

SRK flaunted his chiseled body and abs in the movie ‘Om Shanti Om’ and sent everybody’s heart racing. With Happy New Year, he has reached a completely new level of eight-pack abs. He underwent a rigorous training to build a rock solid physique for the movie and won a lot of appreciation for his character.

SALMAN-KHAN-BOLLYWOOD-STAR-PERFECT-PHYSIQUEIf you were about to sue me for omitting the most eligible bachelor in Bollywood from my list, here I am with the most handsome Salman Khan to defend myself. Salman has always been counted among the most handsome men on earth. He kick-started his career as a supporting actor in ‘Biwi ho to aisi’ and struggled his way up the ladder of success. He is the most sought after actor even today.

Salman had a toned and fit body since the very beginning and his shirtless acts were regular in his films. But from the boy-next-door image in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, he has come a long way to portraying the muscle-bound Chulbul Pandey. From the naïve “ooimaas” to “maine ek baar commitment kar diya to apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta”, Salman has completely transformed into a Dabangg hero. His fans always await his six-pack abs and muscular body to be revealed onscreen.

Salman sticks to a rigorous fitness regime and a strict diet. He has been a motivation and role model to many other actors in the industry. Hrithik Roshan, Arjun Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Katrina Kaif and many such actors consider him as their guru and motivation. He always encourages people to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle. He himself works out for at least 3 hours daily and is a fitness freak, who focuses on biceps, triceps and abs workout. His stamina and endurance are unmatched and he does 500 crunches, chin-ups and pull-ups to maintain his amazing physique. Besides this, he also goes cycling for at least 10 kms daily.

So you now know for sure that it is almost impossible to replicate the noble and kind-hearted, yet tough and muscular Salman Khan!

FARHAN-AKTHAR-BOLLYWOOD-STAR-PERFECT-PHYSIQUEHow could we miss the multi talented actor and the latest heartthrob of Bollywood, Farhan Akhtar. His recentblockbuster movie “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” has fetched him more fans than ever. Farhan’s debut movie ‘Rock on’ established him not only as an actor, but also as a wonderful singer.

He did win laurels for his acting skills in ‘Zindgi na milegi dobara’, but his role as Milkha Singh in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ made him a superstar overnight.  His success wasn’t a result of an overnight performance though, he had to work really hard to get that remarkable physique.

Farhan used to train 5-6 hours daily and his training sessions included cycling, repetitions, swimming, football, stair running etc. The training sessions had begun in 2011 where he was put on a 6-course meal program (to help him gain adequate strength and muscles) besides the rigorous workout regime. He completely avoided junk food and chapatti, rice etc. and survived only on high protein diet and protein shakes.

He had to work towards increasing his stamina and enhancing his physique for the character of Milkha. He also had to shed 15 kgs to play the role of an army man in the movie. It took him 13 months to get that chiseled look for the movie. Farhan followed hypertrophic training and strength training routine for muscle buildup. He also followed Tamata principle and underwent weight exercises to achieve a perfect physique.

Hats off to the actor who pushed himself to the core in order to fit into the character of the flying Sikh!
